Flipping the pages: Militärflugzeuge

I picked up this book last summer at a flee market together with another one called Enzyklopädie der Flugzeuge.

After the first few pages it became obvious that although a bit out-dated, this book would make for a great quick-reference book for post-war aircrafts.

Revell’s Sikorsky SH-60B is a re-box of Italeri’s same offering from 2003. The only thing Revell apparently changed was to add new decals for the US Navy HSL-42 and HSL-49.

Unboxing Heller’s 1:35 AMX 30 AU F1

I bought this kit as part of a larger package several months ago and it was just sitting around on the stash since, considering its age (the kit itself seems to be at least 20 years old, probably even more), I knew this was not going to be a modelling highlight.

Unboxing the Academy Minicraft 1:144 North American Mustang P-51D

We have lately really got into the habit of visiting the local flee markets in our area. Not really looking for anything but open to fun things.

The same happened last Saturday… While walking between the seller lines, I have noticed a small box in retro design, with the image of an airplane on it. At a second look, I was amazed to identify it as the Academy Minicraft 1:144 North American Mustang P-51D airplane kit!!! Not something you would find around these places, especially such “exotic” looking ones. I must admit, I was totally buffed by how attractive the box art was! One week later, I’m still hooked on it, to be honest!

My first shot at Mr. Surfacer 500

I was working on the Eduard 1:72 Mig-15 kit the last weeks and while the kit itself is simply awesome there are those nasty little gaps when you put the wings and fuselage together.
